The pictures are hand-carved and hand-printed lino prints, created with high-quality oil colors and the finest quality, acid-free art paper.

Each picture comes to be either based on memories close to my heart, something observed in the present, or something imagined: shapes, contours, proportions which I find captivating and excite me to follow up on them.

Once I find shapes that I find inviting to work on, I start from the roughest sketches in my sketchbook, then redraw the same lines and shapes again and again on tracing paper until I reach clear contours and the exact shapes that I look for. In the process of drawing, already carving away the excess, the superfluous lines, looking for the hard edges that contain the "true" shapes I am looking for.

Then, the prepared drawing is copied to the linoleum board, and the physical work begins. Long days of carving are spent on each picture, with intermittent test prints for quality control, until the final carved picture is prepared. Finally, the carved linoleum is colored, and after sketching, drawing, copying, carving, and test-printing, the final versions come to life. Each picture is a weeks-long journey, and with each picture I learn something new of this amazing technique.
