OTTHON

STUDIO MARGARITA, VIENNA 16-23.11.2024

Where is home? Anyone who has moved, even only once, knows this gut-wrenching question. The answer is rarely one, and never easy. What is home? This is slightly better. From the painful exercise of thinking about a place - we move onto the things that populate it: the color of a carpet, a gifted flower vase; familiar faces greeting us at the end of the day, with a promise of calm, stillness, of peace.

'Otthon' (Hungarian for home) by Mihály Sibinger lets you in a private, yet undefined space to explore the feeling of home through the transformative medium of linocut.

The exhibition was staged within a spatial intervention at Studio Margarita. Repurposed building materials defined an enclosed, versatile space which welcomed individual and personal interactions.
